About us
- We are a family run business within the beautiful South Pennine moorlands, based on the tops of Todmorden and Hebden Bridge. We live together as 3 generation family and feel privileged to be able to serve the counties of West Yorkshire and Lancashire on our doorstep.
- Our home and business offer a unique, natural environment, surrounded by stunning views across the valley. We are nestled between the stunning Hawkstones and Bridestones rocks abundant with wildlife including curlew, lapwing and many other birds and creatures who make this landscape their home.
- Our aim is to offer you a compassionate and caring service, promoting dignity and respect for you and your beloved pet that is bespoke to your needs. We genuinely understand the heartache and turmoil felt when you lose a pet and hope that our support and idyllic, peaceful environment will help you through a difficult time.
I have personally owned many rescue animals for over 60 years, always being encouraged as a child, by my Mum to show kindness and compassion to animals. We know that saying farewell to a sole companion or a much loved member of your family is never easy and so with your wishes being at the heart of our service, we offer to collect your pet from home or by arrangement from your veterinary practice. If you would like to make your own arrangements, we would always welcome you for a personal appointment directly at the Valley of Animals.
So, why the name “Valley of Animals”? Apart from the fact that we now live in a beautiful valley setting, the “Valley of Animals” book by Elma Williams set in picturesque Wales, was given to me way back in the 60s by my childhood heroine Miss Poston from Swinton, Manchester, my home town. Adults and children alike with boxes, bags and tiny hands at her front door holding injured or stray cats, pigeons, birds....you name it she cared for it! Compassionate to the end!
